Prime Focus Technologies Hires Michael Schunk

Winder Joins Rainmaker

Catherine Winder, the Lucasfilm Animation exec who ramped up the studio for the production of CLONE WARS, has taken the president post at Rainmaker Ent.. Warren Franklin, who was president and CEO, will remain as chief exec.

Rainmaker is currently working on its first feature ESCAPE FROM PLANET EARTH. The Weinstein Co. will distribute. In the summer, it will start production on the short LUNA, helmed by former Pixar artist Jon Mead. Rainmaker is best known for its production of BARBIE and MAX STEEL.

Jerry Bruckheimer Games Gets Leads

Jerry Bruckheimer and MTV Games announced two executive appointments that officially mark the producer’s entrance into the videogame industry. Industry veterans, Jim Veevaert and Jay Cohen, will lead Jerry Bruckheimer Games, Inc. as President of Production and President of Development respectively.

Veevaert and Cohen will build a creative IP development studio focused on the development and production of interactive content and original intellectual property that convey and reflect the sensibility of Jerry Bruckheimer's other creative ventures.

Chairman/CEO Leaves Imagi

Douglas Glen, the chairman and CEO of Hong Kong-based Imagi Intl. Holdings Ltd., has stepped down, according to VARIETY. Imagi is currently searching for a new chairman, while board member William Courtauld will serve as acting CEO. Glen plans to work as a consultant for the following six months. He joined the animation company at the end of 2006. While their he had overseen the troubled ASTRO BOY feature, which had to shut down production in January before Imagi secured additional funding.

Again more and internationally renowned speakers came to Stuttgart, again for four days the sunny town became animator’s land And that in those dark and gloomy times of worldwide economic crisis. And I did not discover one unhappy face during all those days.
