On March 21st in Los Angeles at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the winner for Best Animated Short Film. After carefully considering the humor of Jolly Roger, the stunning sequences of Canterbury Tales, the heart-touching When Life Departs, the finesse of Bunny and the wide expanses of the haunting More, the Academy chose....

Bunny!

Congratulations to Director Chris Wedge and crew.

In addition, the results are in for Animation World Network's Oscar Review reader poll. We hope you visited each nominee that was featured in The 1999 AWN Oscar Showcase. If you didn't then take a few moments to see them now!

For the second year running, Animation World Network's readership has chosen the same winner as the Academy!
