It is the
characters' visual design which highlights The Indescribable Nth,a
children's story about a boy whose most treasured possession is a snow globe
containing a heart -- his own heart and the love that it embodies. This
precious item is guarded by the boy's father, treated roughly by his first
girlfriend, and finally treasured by a young woman who seems to be his perfect
match. The story is based on Stephen D. Moore's book of the same title,
published in 1991, and uses English-language narration.

The Indescribable Nthattempts to strip character animation down to it's essence.
I wanted to show that an emotional story could be told without elaborate production
value.

Oscar Moore
was born Steve Moore in New
Jersey, 1962. The name Steve served him well until he got into the animation
business, where he encountered four other Steve Moores, creating much confusion.
He now uses his father’s name for credit and has so far not encountered any other
Oscar Moores.
Steve/Oscar started in animation at Cal Arts in 1981, taught by Disney veterans
Jack Hannah, T. Hee, Elmer Plummer and Hal Ambro. He began working professionally
in 1984, starting as an in-betweener, then moving on to animate, storyboard, then
direct. His non-directing credits include The Brave Little Toaster(1986),
The Nightmare Before Christmas(1993) and A Goofy Movie(1995). His
directing credits have been the theatrical shorts Stand By Me(1996) and
Redux Riding Hood(1997), for which he received an Academy Award nomination.
He has just completed The Phox, the Box, and the Lox,a
Fractured Fairy Talestheatrical short created in the Jay Ward style from a
lost Bill Scott script.
