On On March 26th in Los Angeles, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences
announced the winner for Best Animated Short Film. The category was very competitive this year and featured five great
shorts Peter Peaks' humorous Humdrum;Torril Cove's first animated film My Grandmother Ironed
The King's Shirts;Alexander Petrov's oil paint on glass in IMAX format The Old Man
and the Sea;Paul Driessen's enigmatic 3 Misses;and Wendy Tilby and Amanda Forbis' When the Day
Breaks,which won first place at both the Annecy and Cannes film festivals. The Academy
