Ziff Davis Media Inc. has announced the launch of GAMING INDUSTRY NEWS (GIN), a monthly newsletter and a weekly e-mail, with an integrated online component (www.gamingindustrynews.com). GAMING INDUSTRY NEWS will feature up-to-date news, inside analysis, business and technology trends, opinions and commentary on the business of electronic videogames. GIN will be part of Ziff Davis Media's Game Group, based in San Francisco, California.
Jimmy Guterman has been appointed as editor-in-chief of the new publication. He has extensive experience running newsletters, having edited MEDIA GROK and MEDIA UNSPUN for THE INDUSTRY STANDARD. He has written and edited for more than 100 periodicals, among them THE BOSTON GLOBE and FORTUNE. Guterman was also founder and president of The Vineyard Group, a media consultancy, where he advised some of the technology companies on marketing and strategy. He began his career at eWEEK, the "enterprise newsweekly."

GIN will cost $995 for an annual subscription, but at launch the subscription rate will be only $695.
