IDT Ent. announced that Rob Reiner, Whoopi Goldberg, Brian Dennehy, William H. Macy, Mandy Patinkin, Dana Reeve, Robert Wagner, Richard Kind, Raven-Symone and New York Yankees manager Joe Torre will head an all-star voice cast in its first CG-animated feature film, YANKEE IRVING. In addition, Oscar-nominated and Emmy Award-winning composer John Debney will create the films original score.
The film also is introducing Jake Syzmanski, 10-year-old star of the upcoming Nick Jr. series, GO, DIEGO GO, who voices the title character. YANKEE IRVING, originally directed by the late Christopher Reeve, is the adventure of a boy who travels across the country on a mission to return Babe Ruths bat before the deciding game of the 1932 World Series. Along the way, he meets an eclectic, quirky array of characters that aid and encourage him on his comic journey to the big game in Chicago.
The film is in production at IDT Ent. Animations studio in Toronto with an anticipated release in late summer 2006. Dan St. Pierre and Colin Brady are co-directors. Exec producers are Dana Reeve, Steve Brown, Morris Berger and Dan Krech. Ron Tippe and Igor Khait are producing. Janet Healy, president, animation at IDT Ent., and Jerry Davis, cco, will supervise creative and production for the company. The film will be distributed through IDTs recently announced multi-picture deal with Twentieth Century Fox.
