French animation studio Xilam has notched up a stack of eastern European sales following last month's DISCOP market.
Top favorite with the eastern European buyers is Xilam's slapstick comedy featuring a fat blue cat and three ugly cockroaches, OGGY AND THE COCKROACHES (200x7 or 65x30).
On the TV front, new deals have been signed by LNK TV, Lithuania, which has acquired rights for OGGY seasons one, two and three and with VGTRK in Russia, which has picked up seasons two and three.
On the home entertainment front, Russia's CD Land has acquired video rights for three seasons of OGGY, and North Video, in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, has secured rights for season one. New deals will be announced shortly for seasons two and three.
Other XILAM shows proving popular in eastern Europe include the animated comedy entertainment series A KIND OF MAGIC (26x30) which has been licensed to Disney Poland and Disney Serbia. Also, video rights to SHURIKEN SCHOOL, which aired on Jetix, has been picked up by Kartunz in Poland and Millenium Trading in Romania.
