French animation company Xilam has allied with the U.K.'s Cake Distribution to handle English-speaking territories, reports C21 MEDIA. The alliance with Cake, which is headed by Xilam's former exec VP of business development, Ed Galton, will have the London-based distributor handling sales to all English-speaking markets, including the U.K., Ireland, the U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
In addition, Xilam has appointed a new sales manager, Laurence Marty, who will handle distribution for the rest of the world. Marty, who is based in Paris, has previously worked at TF1 International, France Television and M6.
"Teaming up with Cake Distribution in London and hiring our new sales manager in Paris, allows Xilam to consolidate and strengthen its sales strategy," said Marc du Pontavice, founder and president of Xilam. "Mipcom provides us with a good opportunity to tell buyers about the new sales structure and demonstrate our commitment to building the distribution business."
Xilam's distribution priorities include A KIND OF MAGIC (26x30), an animated comedy series that will be unveiled at Mipcom; SHURIKEN THE MOVIE; RAHAN (26x30); and OGGY AND THE COCKROACHES.
