Reeves to Redux They Live Story

Matt Reeves is set to write and direct redux of Ray Nelson's short story EIGHT O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING, which was turned into THEY LIVE by John Carpenter, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The story centers on a man who discovers that aliens live among us, and are using subliminal messages to control us. The 1988 Carpenter film starred Roddy Piper and Keith David who used special sunglasses to see who where the aliens.

Strike Ent.'s Marc Abraham and Eric Newman are producing. Les Mougins' Shep Gordon, Strike's Kristel Laiblin and Carpenter are the exec producers. Scott Bernstein will shepherd for Universal.
