Director John Woo will team with Creative Artists Agency and IMAX to bring his next film FLYING TIGERS to the giant IMAX screen, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. CAA will pitch the $90 million production to Hollywood studios.

The WWII-set epic follows U.S. Army Air Corp Lt. Gen. Claire Lee Chennault and his Flying Tigers who trained the first Chinese fighter pilots. Woo said his ideal choice for the lead would be Liam Neeson and likes someone like Liu Ye (CITY OF LIFE AND DEATH) for the young pilot in training.

Woo is co-writing the script with Chris Chow and will co-produce with long-time business partner Terence Chang. China Film Group and Beijing Galloping Horse Film & TV Productions will also producing.

Production is set to start in the spring with an eye on a fall release.
