Women In Children's Media Elects New Leadership

Women in Children's Media (WiCM) announced Ashley Fenwick-Naditch, a Producer with Sesame Workshop and CEO of Children's Media Consultants LLC, begins her term as President this month alongside existing staff and other newly named Board of Directors members.

Women in Children's Media Founder Livia Beasley begins her new role as a Senior Advisor on the WiCM Advisory Board along with industry experts such as Alice Cahn, Amy Friedman, Jodi Nussbaum, Beth Richman, Istar Schwager, Rita Weisskoff, and Marsha Williams. New York University Kanbar Institute of Film and Television Associate Professor Lynne McVeigh will also join the Board of Advisors in 2009.

The other new WiCM Officers include: Vice President Ginny Bloom (Manager of Original Programming, Nickelodeon); Communications Chair Kristen Schrader (Rights and Permissions, Comcast Sports Group); and Seminar Events Chair Karen Halpenny (Editor, Sesame Workshop).

In January, WiCM will be kicking off a new Writer's Group with a Writer's Workshop. And, this February, WiCM will be co-hosting their first panel at the KidScreen Summit. WiCM is also growing the number of exclusive events for members and launching a children's media industry mentorship program.

Women in Children's Media (WiCM) is an industry association for women working in youth media sectors such as children's television, film, publishing and new media. The organization supports members through monthly workshops, networking events and professional seminars.
