Platinum Studios, Top Cow Prods. and Arclight Films have combined forced to bring Top Cow comic WITCHBLADE to the big screen as a live-action feature, reports VARIETY. In the comic -- which was previously adapted into a TV series -- a female warrior is chosen each generation to protect the world with the Witchblade, a bejeweled gauntlet that gives the wearer superpowers.
Arclight's Gary Hamilton and Nigel Odell, Platinum Studios' Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, and Havenwood Media's Steve Squillante will produce. Top Cow's Marc Silvestri and Matt Hawkins are the exec producers alongside Platinum Studios' Rich Marincic and Greenberg Group's Randy Greenberg.
In 2006, Japan's Gonzo Digimation turned the property into an anime series.
