Winx Fairy School, a brand new game for Apple and Android devices, is due out for Christmas 2013.
Based upon the hugely popular Winx brand, created by Italy's Rainbow Studios, Winx Fairy School follows hot on the heels of Tsumanga Studio’s Winx Sirenix Power, which has been downloaded over 1.3 million times since it was released in May 2013.
Winx Club is a global phenomenon, the number one intellectual property for girls across the whole of Europe and beyond. The original animated television series -- celebrating its 10th anniversary and now in its sixth season -- is also a huge licensing success with a comprehensive range of branded products including feature films, DVDs, toys, clothing, books and more recently video games.
Winx Fairy School allows fans for the very first-time to join the Winx at Alfea college for fairies, decorate their dorm rooms, choose from hundreds fabulous fashion combinations– straight from the TV show, explore Alfea castle, study new spells, complete hundreds of quests and ultimately experience the fairy transformation by defeating the Trix and their monster friends and protecting the secret of Alfea.
Winx Fairy School is the first Winx game to offer multiplayer gaming, allowing players to play together and share the experience of the fairy school with each other.
Winx Fairy School will offer players new content and access to additional material within the game including exclusive new video clips, new Winx fashion styles and a unique story, available only within the game.
“The popularity of Winx Club all around the world is simply phenomenal,” said Graeme Harvey, the CEO of Tsumanga Studios, the developer and publisher of Winx Fairy School. “It has a great audience who really engage with the brand and who really enjoy getting involved with the world of the Winx fairies. Our first game, Winx Sirenix Power let players take part in simple races in an underwater kingdom. Winx Fairy School offers far more with in-depth customisation, multiplayer and social elements building a much richer and more sophisticated experience we believe players will love.”
“We are sure Winx Fairy School will be a great success as for the first time it gives fans across the world the opportunity to create their very own Winx story, enroll to the Alfea College, attend the school of their favorite fairies… all thanks to the strong identification of our fans in their beloved characters.” adds Cristiana Buzzelli, VP, Contents – Digital and Publishing at Rainbow.
Winx Fairy School is due for release in December 2013, initially for Apple iPad and iPhone, with the Android version released shortly afterwards.
