Winners Of The 2004 BAF! Awards Announced

The National Museum of Photography, Film & Television has announced the winners of this years BAF Awards as part of the 11th Bradford Animation Festival, which took place on Nov. 13, 2004. The BAF Awards celebrate the best new animation from around the world. This years event received a record 1,065 film submissions from 52 countries -- a 78% rise on last years submissions.

Best Professional Film SEVENTEEN Hisko Hulsing (Netherlands, 2003)Chosen for "its design values and use of colour"

Best Promotional / Commercial filmFRANZ FERDINAND: 'TAKE ME OUT' Jonas Odell (U.K., 2004)Chosen for its great graphics that perfectly matched Franz Ferdinand's style and music

Best TV SeriesCREATURE COMFORTS: 'CATS OR DOGS?' Richard Goleszowski (U.K., 2003)"it's clever, witty and hysterically funny"

Best Film for Children DER ZIMMERMAN UND DER WINTER Christoph Horch (Germany, 2004)"film for children that dared to look at the darker side of our human experience"

Best Web AnimationSPIF Allan Plenderleith (U.K., 2004)As voted for by online audiences of the Website with 34% of the votes

Special Jury Prize (highly commended)SON OF SATAN JJ Villard (USA, 2004)"violent but with an underlying sadness - a faithful rendition of Bukowski's narrative"
