Wild Green Yonder to Air on Comedy Central

Greetings, Earthlings! The Emmy Award-winning animated series FUTURAMA has landed at Comedy Central and now it's time for the ultimate blast-off! Tune in for the out-of-this-world hilarious world television premiere of INTO THE WILD GREEN YONDER, scheduled to debut as a four-part epic on Sunday, April 26, beginning at 9 p.m.

In its television debut, INTO THE WILD GREEN YONDER puts Fry and the Planet Express crew on the brink of a marvelous new Green Age. However, when ancient forces of darkness -- three years older than time itself -- re-emerge to wreak havoc, will the FUTURAMA crew be able to stop them? It certainly doesn't help that Bender's in love with a married fembot and Leela's on the run from Zapp Brannigan. The fate of the universe may be questionable, but fans can still look forward to guest appearances by illusionist Penn Jillette, hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg, talk radio star Phil Hendrie and FAMILY GUY's Seth MacFarlane.

The FUTURAMA series focuses on the life of Philip Fry (Billy West), a 25-year-old pizza delivery boy who accidentally freezes himself December 31, 1999 and wakes up 1,000 years later with a fresh start at life -- and a "diverse" new group of friends including Turanga LeeLa (Katey Sagal), a tough, but lovely one-eyed alien, and Bender (John DiMaggio), a robot who possesses human characteristics and flaws.

FUTURAMA aired on Fox from 1999 to 2003 and the series consists of 72 episodes. It was nominated five years-in-a-row and won three Emmys, including Outstanding Animated Program in 2002.

FUTURAMA is produced and distributed by 20th Century Fox Television. The show was created and executive produced by Matt Groening with co-exec producers David X. Cohen, Ken Keeler and Eric Horsted.

INTO THE WILD GREEN YONDER was released to DVD and Blu-ray in February.
