Animation studio Wild Brain, Inc. has continued the expansion of its global operations with the launch of its new creative services studio Wild Brain UK, LLC based in London. Wild Brain UK is headed by animation and commercial creative director Mike Smith and managing producer Nikki Kefford, with director Tom Gravestock also on board. Powered by talent from London's animation community, Wild Brain UK will be committed to developing emerging talent with a wide-range of distinctive and eclectic styles. Mike Smith, who has spent the last 10 years in the U.S., working at Warner Bros. Feature Animation, Nickelodeon Features and Colossal Pictures, returns to his native England where, in the mid '80s, he founded Felix Films, the first animation studio to represent directors and designers with their own show reels. Nikki Kefford brings over 10 years of international and domestic commercial production experience to the company. With a primary focus on animation, her previous client list includes agencies in London and Toronto as well as Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Francis Ford Coppola, Wieden & Kennedy and Walt Disney Animation. Canadian-born Tom Gravestock has been working in London for the past 10 years directing commercials at Picasso Pictures as well as working on his own short films. Wild Brain UK is currently in production on its first commercial campaign and is in final negotiations on several other projects including feature film work.
