WIA Selects Bands for Battle of the Animation Bands Fundraiser

Women In Animation International (WIA) announces the selection of three amazing contestants for its “Battle of the Animation Bands” fundraising-party on September 25th in Hollywood.

Women In Animation International (WIA) announces the selection of three amazing contestants for its “Battle of the Animation Bands” fundraising-party on September 25th in Hollywood. This evening of indie music will pit Bonsai Tribe, Groove Bazaar and Go-Go Global! against each other, as the audience chooses the ultimate star.

Each band is unique with a truly danceable sound. Bonsai Tribe is a self-described Reggae/Rock group with a “twist of strangeness.” Groove Bazaar is “70’s funk re-imagined,” with Soul, Latin, Blues and Jazz vibes. And, Scot Byrd’s world fusion ensemble Go-Go Global! blends pop-rock and world beat. This exciting event will also showcase spins from DJ Krisz Klink.

6 Point Harness Studios, the noted Flash company, is hosting this musical bash in the parking lot of their facility. Donation price for tickets are a suggested $15 for early bird purchases and $20 on site. Tickets can be purchased online at www.groovetickets.com. (Search for “Battle of the Animation Bands.” Venue details available at groovetickets.com.) Each ticket includes two drink coupons. No one under 21 will be admitted. A trendy food truck will also be on site.

Proceeds from “The Battle of the Animation Bands,” will support all of Women in Animation’s volunteer work serving the global animation community, including support of national student and professional chapters and international affiliates as well as the Phyllis Craig Scholarship program.
