Applications are now being accepted for the 55th Annual Writers' Guild Awards, and for the first time all animated programs (long form original, long form adaptation, specials and episodic) will compete in the new television animation category. To be eligible for entry, television animation scripts must have been broadcast for the first time between September 1, 2001 and November 30, 2002. A writer who wrote a script and received credit on the program or episode may submit the script for consideration. At the time the script is submitted, all credited writers on the program or episode must be or apply to become members of the Animation Writers Caucus. The script may be of any length or type and scripts produced and initially exhibited in the made-for-video market will be eligible if they are next shown on television with no previous theatrical exhibition. Winners will be announced at the 55th Annual WGA Awards on March 8, 2003. For complete guidelines and an application, visit www.wga.org. The deadline for applications is December 2, 2002.
