West Midlands Animation Development Scheme

Light House, in partnership with Screen West Midlands, and animation companies Screenburn and The CharacterShop in the U.K., are launching a new initiative to provide work placement opportunities for talented new animators with these regional animation companies.

Artists would work on real commissions, providing them with an opportunity to develop technical and creative skills, to establish contacts and to gain insights into the day-to-day working environment of an animation studio.

In order to be eligible for this scheme, applicants must be a graduate and resident in the West Midlands. Applicants will be selected on the basis of a portfolio and interview. Participating companies are predominantly 3D-based, so preference will be given to applicants with knowledge of 3D software.

Applications are due by Feb. 21, 2005. For more information and application details, contact Wendy Jones by phone at 044-01902-716055 or e-mail plot@light-house.co.uk
