Award-winning production company, Red Kite Animations, part of the global media agency August Media Holdings, today announced a production agreement with Wendy Promotions Ltd (WPL) - a joint venture between Scandinavian media group Egmont and UK publisher DC Thomson - to produce Wendy (26x30’), a 3D adaptation of the successful European magazine of the same name.
Targeting six to nine year olds, the series has been commissioned by European broadcasters ZDF and France Televisions. The show charts the adventures of teenage heroine, Wendy and focuses on her equestrian centered life. Living on a stud-farm, complete with a riding school and stables, Wendy has become an accomplished rider and show jumper; her life is full of gossip, friendships and romances which will be the main themes of the program.

For over twenty five years Wendy has been a very popular and highly successful magazine and great care has been taken in adapting it into a television series. Wendy is aimed at the millions of girls around the world who love horses and is packed with stories of adventure, excitement and friendship”.

Wendy is a Red Kite Animations production in association with Wendy Promotions Ltd (WPL). The series was commissioned by Nicole Keeb for ZDF and Julien Borde for France Televisions. It is produced by Ken Anderson for Red Kite Animations.
