Weissenborn To Head SPTI Global Ad Sales

Jamie Weissenborn has been named to the newly created position of vp, global advertising sales, international networks, Sony Pictures Television International (SPTI). Based at SPTI's headquarters in Culver City, California. Weissenborn will manage advertising sales for SPTI's multi-territory programs airing across AXN and Sony Entertainment Television (SET), part of SPTI's International Networks portfolio.

"As we continue to grow advertising revenue for our channels worldwide, we are thrilled that Jamie has joined us to lead our multi-regional efforts," said T.C. Schultz, svp, international networks, SPTI, to whom Weissenborn will report. "With his experience, he will be a great contribution to the entire international networks group."

Weissenborn will also manage sales to movie studios for theatrical advertising on SPTI's international networks, and will support SPTI's international networks for U.S.-based multi-national advertisers. Additionally, he will provide sales expertise and assistance to SPTI's international networks in areas such as structure, pricing, inventory management and training.

Since August 2002, Weissenborn has been a sales, marketing and revenue consultant for SPTI's international networks group where he has led a review of the ad sales and marketing operations of SPTI's SET, MAX and AXN networks in India. He has held positions at eMachines Inc. in Pasadena from 1999 to 2001 where he was vp, Internet group and at Univision in Los Angeles from 1998 to 1999 where he was vp, marketing and sales development.

Weissenborn held various positions at Comedy Central's Los Angeles office, including account manager (1992-1995), director, advertising sales, western region (1995-1998), rising to vp, advertising sales, western region in 1998. Prior to Comedy Central, Weissenborn was an account exec/national spot rep, for Harrington, Righter and Parsons in Chicago and San Francisco.
