Tween vampire romance TWILIGHT (Summit Ent.) is holding at the top of the box office with a third place finish and $7.95M. In four weeks, the film -- vfx by CIS Vancouver, ILM, Catalyst Media, Rez-Illusion, PIC Agency, Lola and Gentle Giant -- has crossed the $150M box office mark and now stands at $150.045M.
Disney's animated BOLT went down a place for fourth and $7.46M. In four weeks the film has made $88.8M. QUANTUM OF SOLACE (Sony, vfx by Double Negative, Framestore, MK12, Machine and MPC) placed sixth with $3.7M and has a five-week cume of $157.58M.
Holiday-themed opener NOTHING LIKE THE HOLIDAYS from Overture Films (vfx by Amalgamated Pixels and LOOK! Effects) made $3.5M, good enough for seventh place.
Eighth place went to Paramount/DreamWorks' animated MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA, which earned $3.18M this week and in six weeks has made $169.9M.
Focus Features' biopic MILK came in ninth place with $2.6M in its third week out, expanding into 328 theaters. It has a total cume of $7.59M.
Tenth place went to actioner TRANSPORTER 3 (Lionsgate, vfx by Duran Duboi) with $2.35M and a three-week cume of $29.38M.
Freestyle Releasing's animated feature DELGO opened in 18th place with $511,920. THE POLAR EXPRESS (Warner Bros.) in IMAX made $198,404 and in four weeks has made $720,745. Disney's BEVERLY HILLS CHIHUAHUA earned $70,981 and in 11 weeks has a cume of $92.34M.
Thirteen-week-old IGOR (MGM) made $45,700 and a total cume of $19.4M. Disney-Pixar's WALL-E did $30,820 and over 25 weeks has earned $223.75M. FLY ME TO THE MOON from Summit Ent. made $14,890 and in 18 weeks has earned $12.4M. And IFC's FEAR(S) OF THE DARK made $1,889 in four locations for an eight-week gross of $76,694.
