A new holiday-themed trailer for Illumination Entertainment’s forthcoming animated feature, The Secret Lives of Pets, proves that pets don’t always make the best photography models.

The new clip introduces the full cast of four-legged characters -- including Louis C.K. as Max the terrier, Hannibal Buress as Buddy the dachshund, Lake Bell as Chloe the cat, Jenny Slate as Gidget the Pomeranian, Kevin Hart as Snowball the rabbit, and Eric Stonestreet as Duke the giant mongrel -- as they struggle to pose for a holiday greeting card:

From Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment, the studio behind Minions and Despicable Me, The Secret Lives of Pets follows pets who turn homes upside down when their owners leave for the day.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Taking place in a Manhattan apartment building, Max’s life as a favorite pet is turned upside down, when his owner brings home a sloppy mongrel named Duke. They have to put their quarrels behind when they find out that an adorable white bunny named Snowball is building an army of abandoned pets determined to take revenge on all happy-owned pets and their owners.

Written by Ken Daurio, Brian Lynch, and Cinco Paul, The Secret Lives of Pets is directed by Chris Renaud and Yarrow Cheney. The voice cast for the film also includes Steve Coogan, Ellie Kemper, Bobby Moynihan, Dana Carvey, and Albert Brooks. The movie arrives in theaters on July 8, 2016.
