Watch Kirsten Lepore’s Weird and Wonderful Short, ‘Hi Stranger’

‘Bad Jubies’ director returns with new Claymation short created for Late Night Work Club anthology, ‘Strangers.’

U.S. animator Kirsten Lepore, known for her stop-motion short films like Sweet Dreams, Bottle, and Move Mountain, as well as last year’s “Bad Jubies” episode for Adventure Time, has returned with a new short film entitled Hi Stranger.

Created for Late Night Work Club’s “Stranger” anthology of short films, Hi Stranger was written, directed, and animated by Lepore, with the final sound mix by David Kamp. The nearly three-minute-long claymation short features a super-relaxed nude man, voiced by Garrett Davis, who seems to be checking in with a loveable pep talk:

U.K. animation site Skwigly has a fantastic interview with Lepore about Hi Stranger, where she talks about the genesis of the project (a post-it note doodle from Kent Osborne!) and her process for creating the film, as well teasing a director role for an upcoming indie stop-motion feature. We can’t wait to find out more!
