WATCH: Bloody, Hilarious ‘Deadpool’ Trailer is Finally Here

Directed by Tim Miller with VFX from Blur Studio, 20th Century Fox’s ‘Deadpool’ arrives in theaters on February 12, 2016.

This isn’t your ordinary comic book movie. Twentieth Century Fox has finally dropped the long-awaited full-length trailer for its forthcoming R-rated Deadpool feature, and, while the character might be a Marvel creation, this certainly isn’t a Disney movie. The new trailer features sex, nudity, guns, massive head wounds, blood spatter, Salt-N-Pepa, katana swords, former MMA fighter Gina Carano and cursing a-plenty. Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Directed by Tim Miller from a screenplay by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, Deadpool stars Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with the Mouth alongside Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano and Brianna Hildebrand. Visual effects are provided by Miller’s Blur Studio, which previously provided VFX and title work for Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World and Sony’s The Amazing Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

2016 will be a banner year for super hero movies, with Captain America: Civil WarBatman v Superman: Dawn of JusticeX-Men: Apocalypse, Doctor StrangeSuicide Squad, and Gambit all set for release. Deadpool arrives in theaters on February 12, 2016.
