Warners Saddles with Western Hex

Warner Bros. Pictures is moving forward on a big screen adaptation of DC Comics' Western comicbook JONAH HEX, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor (CRANK) will adapt the script with Mad Chance Prods.' Andrew Lazar and Akiva Goldsman producing.

The anti-hero, who has a disfigured face and wears a Confederate army uniform, started life in the early 1970s in ALL-STAR WESTERN. In 1977, the character received its own series, which ran for 10 years. He resurfaced in the 1990s in a series that mixed Western and supernatural genres and again in 2005. Supernatural elements will play a part in the film.

Greg Silverman and Elishia Holmes will shepherd for Warners while Gregory Noveck will dot he same for DC.
