Warehouse 13 Opens Doors For Syfy Viewers as #1 Cable Program Tuesday Night

New York, NY -- July 8, 2009 -- WAREHOUSE 13, Syfy's newest original scripted series, made Syfy the #1 most-watched ad-supported cable network in primetime Tuesday night. The two-hour premiere last night (9-11pm) delivered a 2.5 Household rating, 3.5 million total viewers, 1.7 million Adults 25-54 and 1.3 million Adults 18-49. Syfy was the #1 most-watched ad-supported cable network in primetime.

Syfy was the #1 ad-supported cable network in primetime for total viewers and also placed #2 for Adults 25-54 and #3 for Adults 18-49.

WAREHOUSE 13 was the #1 most-watched cable program in Tuesday primetime with over 3.5 million total viewers, beating new episodes of DEADLIEST CATCH, HAWTHORNE, SAVING GRACE and RESCUE ME.

Among all cable telecasts in primetime on Tuesday, WAREHOUSE 13 was ranked #2 for Adults 25-54 and #4 for Adults 18-49.

Last night's premiere beat FOX head-to-head in the 9pm hour among Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54. WAREHOUSE 13 drew the 3rd-highest total viewership for a Syfy original series, trailing only the series premieres of STARGATE ATLANTIS (4.2 million total viewers on 7/16/04) and EUREKA (4.1 million total viewers on 7/18/06). Note that when final DVR viewing is included WAREHOUSE 13 will increase its viewership and may surpass one or both of these premieres.

WAREHOUSE 13 topped Syfy's last scripted series launch -- the October premiere of SANCTUARY -- by 29% in total viewers, +20% in Adults 18-49 and +15% in Adults 25-54.

Viewers also flocked to Syfy.com, where more than 150,000 people visited the WAREHOUSE 13 site on July 7, making it the best premiere online since EUREKA.

WAREHOUSE 13 follows two Secret Service agents who find themselves abruptly transferred to a massive, top-secret storage facility in windswept South Dakota which houses every strange artifact, mysterious relic, fantastical object and supernatural souvenir ever collected by the U.S. government. The Warehouse's caretaker Artie (Saul Rubinek) charges Pete (Eddie McClintock) and Myka (Joanne Kelly) with chasing down reports of supernatural and paranormal activity in search of new objects to cache at the Warehouse, as well as helping him to control the warehouse itself. WAREHOUSE 13 airs Tuesdays @ 9pm ET/PT only on Syfy.

The series is produced for Syfy by Universal Cable Productions. It is executive produced by Jack Kenny (THE BOOK OF DANIEL) who also serves as showrunner. David Simkins (DRESDEN FILES) is executive producer; Jace Alexander (BURN NOTICE, RESCUE ME) is co-executive producer and director of the pilot; and Stephen Surjik (MONK, BURN NOTICE) is producer/director of the series.
