As part of the Internationales Filmfestival Mannheim-Heidelberg, the Mannheim Co-Production Meetings were established to help develop and realize international co-productions. The meetings are subsidized by the MEDIA II programs of the EU as one of the few European events of its kind. Thirty feature films have been financed and completed since the Meetings started in 1997. The event is open to any producer seeking international co-production funding or wanting to co-produce. The projects are selected by the quality of the project, suitability of the project for co-production interest and the producers experience and ability to complete the film. A catalogue of pre-selected projects is sent to 500 producers, distributors and sales agents who will select the products and producers they want to meet.
