ChampionNAD Contest, Call for votes!

Montreal, (November 22, 2010) – It is with much pleasure that the National Animation and Design Centre (NAD Centre) is announcing its very first viral contest entitled “ChampionNAD”. This contestwill showcase the work from graduates in the fall 2009 session in the following categories:

° Design and digital arts for video games

° 3D animation and visual effects for film and television

A call for votes among the 3D community and the general public

Starting today and up until December 21, the NAD Centre will be showcasing videos produced by its graduates in the “screening room” on the contest’s website. Each of the short videos will allow the viewer to become familiar with the students’ individual or group work and to enter in their respective universe. “Our students’ creativity and discipline will always astound me”, states Suzanne Guèvremont, General Director of the NAD Centre. “It’s not surprising that they are so in demand!”proudly affirms the director.

The NAD Centre thus invites the general public and industry professionals to view the graduates’ “work” and to vote for their preferred demo. The call for votes will be open until December 21 at 23:59 min 59 s (EST). THE NAD Centre will authorize one vote per day in each of the two categories. The winners will be announced on December 22 at noon.

In order to support the development of young creative talent, 14 Quebec video game and film studios have financially contributed to the “ChampionNAD” contest thus enabling the recognition of six graduates’ work. The three best demos in each of the two categories will be rewarded with a prize and “goodies”, according to their final score. A total amount of $3500 will be divided as follows:
