The Weinstein Co. has scooped up the rights to the script EVILSEEK from writer Wayne Kramer (THE COOLER, RUNNING SCARED) who will also direct and produce the supernatural thriller. Kramer’s partner Michael Pierce (RUNNING SCARED) will also produce via their True Grit Prods. banner. The Weinstein Co. will fully fund the project, which will star Thomas Jane (THE PUNISHER).

Every 1,000 years in Hell they elect a new Satan, and the reigning Satan must take over the body of a mortal and seek out his successor, the most evil human alive. The new Satan assumes the body of a burnt out FBI profiler working on one of the worst serial killing cases in Los Angeles, while inheriting a disgruntled ex-wife, a promiscuous 15 year-old daughter and a lesbian partner.

Michael Cole, co-president of production for The Weinstein Co., Michelle Krumm, evp of acquisitions and co-productions and Carla Gardini, vp of production, will oversee the project for the studio.
