Warner Independent Pictures, the recently formed specialty film division of Warner Bros. Entertainment Group, has hired Michael Andreen as exec vp production and Laura Kim as exec vp marketing and publicity, the studio announced. They join Paul Federbush and Tracey Bing, who joined WIP last week as svp production and acquisitions and vp production and acquisitions, respectively.

Andreen, who most recently was svp production at Twentieth Century Fox, returns to Warner Bros. Pictures, where he was vp production from 1995-99. At WIP, Andreen will oversee the development and production slate.

Kim was with mPRm Public Relations since ‘92, where she was svp and oversaw the company's film campaigns. At WIP, she will be responsible for the marketing and publicity of theatrical releases and will play a vital role as part of the division’s acquisition efforts at major festivals. She most recently worked on AMERICAN SPLENDOR, the Sundance award-winning documentary about Cleveland-based comic book artist Harvey Pekar, featuring black-and-white Flash animation by John Kuramoto and Gary Leib.
