Gore Verbinski is attached to develop a feature film adaptation of the board game CLUE at Universal, according to VARIETY. He will produce under his Universal-based Blink Wink banner with Hasbro's Brian Goldner and Bennett Schneir, who have an overall deal at the studio.

Developed in England by retired legal clerk Anthony Pratt during WWII, and released in 1948, the game has surpassed $1 billion in sales (rare for a board game) and was previously a feature film in 1985. Blind Wink SVP Jonathan Krauss called CLUE, "A global thriller and transmedia event that uses deductive reasoning as its storytelling engine."

Verbinksi followed his Disney success with the PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN franchise with the animated RANGO at Paramount with Johnny Depp.

TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN and G.I. JOE: RISE OF THE COBRA, both based on Hasbro properties, are set for release this summer from Paramount. At Universal, Hasbro also has STRETCH ARMSTRONG with Steve Oedekerk to write, MONOPOLY with Ridley Scott to direct, CANDYLAND with Etan Cohen to write and Kevin Lima to direct and OUIJA under producer Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes banner.
