Christopher McQuarrie has been hired by Fox to pen the WOLVERINE sequel, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. Producer and star Hugh Jackman is set to return for the follow-up that moves the action to Japan. Jackman's Seed Prods. will produce with Lauren Shuler Donner.

McQuarrie isn't new to the X-MEN universe. He penned the original draft of Bryan Singer's X-MEN, but voluntarily took his name off the film when its final version came out closer to David Hayter's vision.
