Book publisher HarperCollins is preparing two new Michael Crichton books for late this year and late 2010, per VARIETY.

The author of JURASSIC PARK, THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN, CONGO, RISING SUN and others died last year of cancer at age 66.

His action adventure PIRATE LATITUDES, set in Jamaica in 1665, will debut November 24 and an technological thriller (title TBA) will come out late next year. PIRATE LATITUDES was written fully by Crichton before his death and was found by an assistant looking through files, while the thriller will have to be completed based on notes. An author has not yet been hired for that task.

PIRATE will bow with a million copy printing, and is about a notorious pirate and the governor of Jamaica planning to raid a Spanish galleon filled with treasure.

Crichton's last novel, NEXT, was released in 2006.
