Karl Urban has joined the cast of PRIEST as its vampire villain, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. The Screen Gems adaptation of the TokyoPop comic is set in a post-apocalyptic world destroyed due to a war between man and vamps. Urban will play Black Hat, a former priest and vampire hunter turned bloodsucker leader. Paul Bettany plays the priest hunter seeking Black Hat and his vamps. Cast also includes Cam Gigandet and Maggie Q.

Scott Stewart is directing the film, which will be produced by Michael De Luca, Stars Road Ent.'s Josh Donen and Mitchell Peck,

The film starts shooting in L.A. next week.
