VARIETY reports that Steven Spielberg and Stacey Snider are snatching up the rights to Michael Morpurgo's WWI novel, WAR HORSE. Spielberg will produce with Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Revel Guest. Lee Hall (BILLY ELLIOT) will write the script.

The story follows the relationship of a boy and his horse as they are separated throughout the course of World War I.
