Softimage Unveils Community Website

Softimage Co., a subsidiary of Avid Technology, revealed today SOFTIMAGE|NET (community.softimage.com), a new community site maintained by Softimage for 3D artists and enthusiasts currently using or learning SOFTIMAGE|XSI.

Softimage XSI is a professional 3D modeling, animation, character creation and rendering software, and the community site will help engage and connect the worldwide community of XSI artists, technical directors and students.

The SOFTIMAGE|NET site is premiering as a public beta release in order to help it grow organically and allow for constructive feedback from the existing XSI user community.

SOFTIMAGE|NET will continue to be developed after the beta cycle is completed.

Key areas on the site include: forums for all aspects of XSI software, user galleries for 3D artwork and animations, content exchange for XSI scripts, add-ons, plug-ins and presets, job forum and XSI talent bank.

Message forums will feature help forums for users to obtain or give advice, networking with other professionals and XSI users globally, a direct connection to Softimage staff and developers, showcasing of XSI art for comments and critiques and a centralized area with free add-ons, presets and scripts.

The SOFTIMAGE|NET community is free for anyone to join - from seasoned 3D professionals to beginners who wish to explore 3D and learn about SOFTIMAGE|XSI software.
