Coming off its buzz-creating win at the Midnight Madness section of the Toronto Film Festival, Indonesian actioner, THE RAID, is looking too get an English remake from Screen Gems, reports Heat Vision. Screen Gems' sister company, Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions, holds the North American rights to the film.

The story follows a SWAT team that gets stuck in an apartment complex where a mobster and his army lay siege on them.

Gareth Evans wrote and directed the original film, which was produced by XYZ Films.
