Roth Has Last Exorcism at Lionsgate

Lionsgate has acquired U.S. rights to THE LAST EXORCISM, VARIETY reports. Germany's Daniel Stamm helmed the pic, which was produced by Strike Entertainment, StudioCanal and HOSTEL helmer Eli Roth.

Lionsgate paid a high-six-figure upfront. It will put $16 million behind publicity and advertising.

Formerly titled COTTON, the film follows an evangelical minister (Patrick Fabian) who brings in a documentary crew to film is final exorcism. Huck Botko and Andrew Gurland wrote the screenplay.

Eric Newman, Marc Abraham and Tom Bliss produced alongside Roth.

StudioCanal funded the film and hold international rights.
