Risky Business Blog reports that REMO WILLIAMS will be returning to the big screen. THE DARK KNIGHT producer Charles Roven and TRANSPORTER producer Steve Chasman will develop the project titled, THE DESTROYER, at Columbia. Charley and Vlas Parlapanides (WAR OF GODS) are writing the script based on the first book in the series.

Created by Warren Murphy and Richard Sapir, REMO follows a police officer wrongfully sent to the electric chair, whose death is faked so he can join a vigilante squad under the name The Destroyer. With the help of his Asian sidekick Chiun, he also seeks revenge on those whom set him up for murder.

Ace Media, which is the production partnership of Roven’s Atlas Ent. and Chasman’s Current Ent., will produce. Steve Alexander will exec produce for Atlas.

The property was previously produced into the 1985 feature REMO WILLIAMS: THE ADVENTURE BEGINS, followed by a short-lived ABC TV series in 1988.
