Nexsan Technologies, a leader in innovative storage solutions, announced that its new ATABeast is now shipping in volume and available worldwide. The ATABeast disk vault sets the bar in high-end, high capacity storage, delivering industry-leading features with unparalleled density and security. ATABeast offers a TCO that also establishes new standards of affordability.

ATABeast is an enterprise class RAID array built around the latest award- winning ATA solutions from Nexsan and high-speed ATA disk drives. It is OS independent, needing no special software drivers or server-based management applications. Every component is redundant with individual components online hot swappable. ATABeast provides the highest density per square inch -- 10.5 drives per U, 3.15TB per U (using 300GB drives).

ATABeast enables large file repositories for thousands of users to be stored on a single system and is ideal for all high capacity applications -- on-line storage, D2D, Digital Video, CCTV, online archives, among others. The high IOPS rating of the ATABeast makes it a good candidate for any data center, with LUN masking and high IOPS performance -- all 42 drives can be active simultaneously. ATABeast ships with Nexsan's WorldView, which provides users with the ability to manage and configure multiple units from a single GUI. With its Anti-Rotational Vibration (ARV) design, ATABeast enables maximum performance.

The ATABeast is now available at starting price of around $47,000 for a 12.6TB configuration.
