It was previously announced that THE HANGOVER star Bradley Cooper was in talks to play Faceman in the A-TEAM feature -- now VARIETY reports that Liam Neeson is in talks to play team leader Col. John "Hannibal" Smith. Early rumors had Common and Ice Cube playing Sgt. "B.A." Baracus, the iconic role originated by Mr. T, but it seems both choices have fizzled out. No word on who will play Capt. "Howling Mad" Murdock have been announced.

Joe Carnahan is directing the adaptation. Ridley Scott, Jules Daly and series creator Stephen J. Cannell are producing. Tony Scott is the exec producer. Carnahan and Brian Bloom did a rewrite of Skip Woods (G.I. JOE: RISE OF COBRA) script.

The 20th Century Fox film will take on an OCEAN'S ELEVEN vibe with the four wrongly convicted war vets running secret mercenary operations like the TV series.

The production will start filming at the end of August with a June 11, 201 release date in mind.
