David Miercort joins Miramax Films in Los Angeles as svp of acquisitions and business affairs. Reporting to both Agnes Mentre, head of Miramax’s acquisition group, and co-president of production, Bob Osher, Miercort will be involved in motion picture acquisitions activities from a business affairs/legal perspective and help facilitate agreements for promotions initiatives.

“David brings tremendous legal and business affairs experience to Miramax Films,” said Mentre. “His background and education are the perfect complements to Miramax’s acquisitions, production and promotions departments, and we are excited to have him on our team.”

Most recently, Miercort was svp of Myriad Pictures’ business affairs division, responsible for overseeing all business and legal matters. Previously he was senior associate at Weissman, Wolff, Bergman, Coleman, Grodin & Evall, where he was involved in all aspects of transactional entertainment law. Miercort held a similar position as an associate in Mitchell, Silberberg & Knupp’s motion picture and television department.
