Deadline.com reports that MGM is in final talks with Sony to distribute its films including JAMES BOND 23. This comes upon rumors that talks with Paramount have derailed over the studio's refusal to go lower than an 8% fee.

MGM was hoping to renew its home entertainment deal with Fox, but 20th Century is not interested in any deal that doesn't include Bond.

As part of the deal, MGM is looking for investment in its future projects and involvement in one of the partner's upcoming tentpoles. If the deal with Sony goes ahead, Deadline speculates that MGM might board THE SMURFS or GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO. Sony released that last two Bond films.

Sam Mendes is directing JAMES BOND 23, which is set to hit theaters on Nov. 9, 2012.
