Martian Labs is opening a branch of its award-winning vfx division in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. In order to expand and adapt to the increasing demands of their clients, Martian Labs is launching this new office to help support the emerging Hollywood-in-the-north industry.

Ivan DeWolf, Director of Business Development at Martian Labs, is making this move now because the vfx industry in Vancouver has matured to the point where a top-quality effects boutique is now a needed element. "Vancouver is on the cusp of becoming a fully equipped postproduction marketplace, and Martian Labs can help add the high-end skillsets we have been known for in our visual effects work in Hollywood," he said.

Martian Labs is a Visual Effects facility and software developer based in Los Angeles. Created in 2000, Martian Labs and Martian Toolz have created visual effects and plug-ins that specialize in producing natural phenomena such as white caps in the ocean, waves, splashes, and rain. Martian Labs software and production staff has been used on such features as BEE SEASON, HARSH TIMES, EXORCIST: THE BEGINNING and DRIVEN.
