INCEPTION and THE DARK KNIGHT production company, Legendary Ent. is partnering with Hong Kong-based Huayi Brothers Media to form Legendary East, writes The Hollywood Reporter. Huayi Bros. will hold only a small share in the new company, but will serve as the company’s in-road to the difficult, but quickly expanding, Chinese market. The two companies will co-produce one English-language production per year starting in 2013.

Warner Bros. Pictures will handle worldwide rights with Huayi handling Chinese distribution.

Thomas Tull heads Legendary and president Wang Zhongjun and CEO Wang Zhonglei run Huyai. Tull devised the new company with Kelvin Wu, who will serve as CEO.

Huayi Brothers produced the AFTERSHOCK, the second highest grossing Chinese-lingo film of all time.
