Billed as a Victorian-era X-MEN, THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN, led by Sean Connery and a cast of legendary monsters, arrives on DVD on Dec. 16, 2003 (Fox Home Entertainment, $27.98). LEAGUE may have disappointed fans of the inspired graphic novel, but the movie is still a fascinating train wreck full of flashy vfx (which utilized about two dozen houses, including Industrial Light & Magic, Steve Johnson's Edge FX Inc., Double Negative, Cinesite (Europe), New Deal Studios Inc., Tippett Studio, Computercafe Inc., Pixel Magic, VCE.Com/Peter Kuran, R!OT, Giant Killer Robots, Engine Room, Big Red Pixel, Mar Vista Ventures and Millennium FX Ltd.).

Extras include commentary by visual effects supervisor John E. Sullivan and miniatures creators Matthew Gratzner along with producers Don Murphy and Trevor Albert and actors Shane West, Jason Flemyng and Tony Curran. Plus 12 deleted and extended scenes and "Assembling the League," a six-part behind-the-scenes doc.
