CBS' JERICHO, saved once last year, has been canceled, according to TV GUIDE.COM.

"The March 25 episode...will be the series finale," CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler said in a statement. "Without question, there are passionate viewers watching this program; we simply wish there were more. We thank an engaged and spirited fan base for keeping the show alive this long, and an outstanding team of producers, cast and crew that went through creative hoops to deliver a compelling, high-quality second season…We're proud of everyone's efforts."

The finale will air on Tuesday with an ending to give closure to fans. Two had been shot in the event that the episode would be the embattled show's last.

The first season ended on a cliffhanger, and fans infamously sent CBS thousands of pounds of peanuts in a symbolic urge to continue the show.

A short seven-episode season was shot, but it looks to be the end of the cult show about the fallout of an American nuclear disaster, starring Skeet Ulrich.

JERICHO could find a third life on cable, but it's an expensive network show that will likely be too pricey for a cable net to pick up.
