The IS-900 VCam Virtual Camera Tracking System, a precision, inertial-ultrasonic virtual camera tracking system for use in the pre-visualization of virtual content is now available from InterSense. Combining InterSense's industry leading motion tracking technology with powerful virtual production software, the new system enables producers of animated and 3D feature films, games and videos to increase productivity, streamline workflow and lower production costs.

The IS-900 VCam provides a simple and natural way to create the realism of handheld and steady-cam operator moves from a virtual camera. Pre-visualization of virtual content occurs in real-time, at pre-viz resolution, providing the director with flexibility and creativity previously unavailable.

The system features InterSense's MicroTrax 6-DOF motion tracking sensors directly integrated into a production camera body with Autodesk MotionBuilder functions mapped to the camera's interface controls. A three-axis analog joystick added to the VCam allows translation, rotation and scaling of the virtual environment in MotionBuilder to help set-up or scout a virtual shot. In addition, buttons on the camera for zoom, play, record and jog transfer total production control to the camera operator. Remote video or wireless options are also available, adding flexibility.

The VCam is immediately available from InterSense. For pricing and further details contact InterSense sales at sales@intersense.com.
