Brisbane filmmakers Peter and Michael Spierig will join a stellar international lineup of international speakers at the Australian Effects and Animation Festival (AEAF) being held at the Sydney Convention Center, Darling Harbor from Dec. 7-10, 2003. Their homegrown horror movie, UNDEAD, is due for release in Australian cinemas on Sept. 4 and destined for global release in 2004.

Self-financed and costing fewer than one million dollars to produce, UNDEAD has already garnered prizes and praise at the Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne Film Festivals.

UNDEAD features an impressive 305 vfx shots, more than JURASSIC PARK and the original STAR WARS. It boasts an exciting cast of young Australian actors dealing with unnatural forces in an outback town.

The Spierig brothers have pursued a love of innovative visual filmmaking ever since their student days at the Queensland College of Art in Brisbane, where their final year work, THE GARDEN, was a finalist in the 1998 Australian Effects & Animation Festival Awards.

At the AEAF they will join such international companies as Pixar (FINDING NEMO), the Moving Picture Co. (LARA CROFT TOMB RAIDER: THE CRADLE OF LIFE), Sony Pictures Imageworks (CHARLIE'S ANGELS: FULL THROTTLE) and Industrial Light & Magic (PETER PAN).
